Inspired by mermaids ...

I have promised to show you my new painting...and yes it´s a mermaid :) I love the  colores and her expression....

Prometi que mostrava o meu novo quadro, uma sereia :) Adoro as cores e a expressão....

I have made a sketch of this mermaid last year, but I was not in the mood for painting a mermaid...this year I don´t know why but the sea have been a constant inspiration. First with "Under water" painting, then "Marine soul" , the Mermaid art dolls and now this Mermaid painting.


She starts with a abstract background in wood, then I had some collage elements...I love to start without thinking in anything, like just having fun, then I have remembered about this drawing and started making her sketch with oil pastel crayons.

Eu fiz o desenho desta sereia o ano passado, mas não estava com a disposição certa para pintar uma sereia...este ano, o mar tem sido uma inspiração constante, porquê não sei. Primeiro com o quadro "under water", depois com "Alma de Marinheiro", e vieram as sereias bonecas e agora este quadro.

Ela começa com um fundo abstracto em madeira, e depois com alguma colagem...eu adoro começar sem pensar em nada, como se estivesse a brincar e a divertir-me, de seguida lembrei-me deste desenho e começei a dar-lhe forma com pastel de óleo.

 

Her tail is a collage work with painted paper towels and acrilic paint, that reminds me of fish scales and this paper gave it an interesting look. I hope you like it :)

A cauda é um trabalho de colagem com papel de cozinha pintado e tinta acrilica, que dá uma textura interessante e me faz lembrar as escamas de um peixe. Espero que gostes :)
