Appreciation

Last night, I was in my studio painting and thinking about appreciation. " A walk, appreciating planet Earth"

How appreciation can change everything, making us focus on the good side of life.

When I walk my dog after lunch, I make that time, a time to appreciate, after all we live in this planet, this is our home. Even I live in the middle of the city, I can always find things to appreciate - the sunny day, the trees, the way leaves move with wind, the flower that is blooming in the sidewalk, the clouds with funny shapes, the way someone gives me a beautiful smile, the stillness of that moment....

When we appreciate, that love is coming right back to you, I believe that.

Snow White in watercolor

During the last weekend I bought a new book - The art of Disney from Golden books by Charles Salomon, and this pages make me so happy. All this stories and characters are part of my childhood and I have all this sweet memories, songs, smiles and magic, that I have to journal about it :)

So I have picked my watercolors (while my videos for watercolor class are uploading) and Snow White was the choosen one.

I thing this was my first movie on cinema so it's really closed to my heart, what a pleasure to create

Snow White. My inner child is jumping with joy :)

Try this: pick one of your favorite child book and with your own style try to draw, paint, journal about it.

Magic is something you make!

While I am working on my new online class "Watercolor fun", filming, editing, organizing.... I make some tiny, tiny breaks to play a bit on my studio. Paper tags are perfect because they can make small but beautiful pieces of art and I really have fun making these.

In fact the tag above will be in the Watercolor Fun class has tutorial ;)

Today I have finished this one with the quote "Magic is something you make", because really it is what I feel. Believing in yourself, focus on what you want, act and expect the best is something magical.

Really!!!!! your point of view changes everything and with a glimpse (a thought) everything ajust to what you believe. That is making magic!

Flow and paint - mixed media art class in Italy

Today I am sharing some pics of my Flow and Paint class in Italy. 

I have made this class in partnership with Simona Anghileri and Color and crafts shop and I am telling you they were the perfect partners for me :) 

The class was in 21 March in the first day of spring, I have started with a circle on the floor where we have made some breathing work and meditation to set the tone for this Flow and paint class.

Simona had brilliant ideas to start working with this group of 18 wonderful woman - they made the background using fresh flowers and vegetables to create wonderful textures into those canvas, so much fun!!!!

The perfect idea to put the class flowing :)

What a pleasure to work with a person like Simona, we were in perfect sync :) love you girl!

After the background we started to discover and feel what that canvas and shades of painting want to try to say to each of us, and so a new phase of the painting started and beautiful things emerged :)

All the girls have made a terrific job, even they were beginners they have completed all steps with a smile on their faces, exploring, discovering, feeling ....woman that opened doors to creativity. 

Here is a proud teacher ;)

What a blessing, to share and paint with all of this wonderful ladies.

Sisters painting- custom art

If a painting puts a smile on my face I know it's done ;) This is my sign, if I feel happy, job done :)

This painting is a custom sisters painting ordered in my etsy shop.

I have mixed information that my customers have gave me with my own interpretation of the pictures, using my intuition to guide me in this process trusting all goodness is coming to this 2 little girls and their family.

In this painting you can find flowers, mandalas, animals, party confetti, butterflies, dream catchers, stars.... That's why I consider my art, paintings to discover... Every time you look you will find something new.

Frida Kahlo and shades of purple

Spring - flowers - flowers in the hair - Frida Kahlo!

This was my inspiration to paint this mini watercolor. She makes me smile :)

                   

One of my favorite shades is purple, I really love to paint and feel this soft and happy color between the cold and warm tones. To me the idea of creating is feeling what is calling you and follow,

 and for sure purple is calling me a lot ;)

So I have created another watercolor girl, and her name is Purple.

She is so tender and full of sweetness.

Spring in my studio

Hi! Spring is all over my studio, I have been working on spring journals, full of flowers and bright colors. 

I can't wait to share all the details with you, but in the meantime some pics while they are in progress ;)

In Lisbon we can smell the spring coming with the beautiful warm sun outside. Wishing this great weather in the week I am going to Italy ;) it's already in 21 March and the class I am going to teach there with Simona Anghileri - "Flow and paint" is  SOLD OUT, so happy!!!!!

Oracle cards - Free for you

You can not imagine how much fun I have, creating this oracle cards for you!

They are colorful, they are sweet, they put a smile on your face, they have words of wisdom, they can be used by mamas and children and they are for you (the best part right :)

First thing to do: click on the image and copy and past to your pictures and then print them out, or make the download here. 

I print them on a 8x10 photographic paper and they look gorgeous and shiny.

I want to give you some ideas on how to use this babies.

Make a pile and shuffle your cards, use your intuition when to stop and take a card. Think about the message on the card and journal about it. For more fun include some washi tape, painted papers and stamps.

Cut more paper squares and create more cards for your deck - spread some paint or watercolor, make some doodles and write your message.

Take one or two cards and disposed them on a special place, on your altar for example or on your desk so they can inspire you during your day.

                 

You can keep them in a fabric bag for exemple or just put them in a envelope that you can attach to your jounal, emblish with washi tape, make some doodles around the cards , to give them a special place. This one is great to make with your kids.

I really hope you enjoy this gift, it comes from the heart and I wish you have more inspired and fun days with this tiny oracle cards.

Prayer mandala - all I create I create through love

Inspired by the words in The oracle cards Gaia from Toni Carmine Salerno, I have painted this mandala with the prayer/ affirmation 

"All I create I create through love

all I create is for the higher good of all

I am truly blessed and grateful

For all the abundance in my life"

It's painted with watercolors and mixed media techniques, from the soul :)
